Christmas at our House
Here’s how Christmas looks in our new little home….
Our little front porch is perfect for my cute old light post that I found at a yard sale for $5. As you enter the house, our bench made from an old door greets you. My “Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas” pallet sign and festive pillows made for a festive display.
Our living room in its current form. (my husband laughs, because you never know if the arrangement will change tomorrow)😏 I’m in love with my new couch and chair. (post is coming about those soon).
After I sold the old couches I was able to prop the fireplace mantle against this wall. I wasn’t sure if it would work, but I’m loving this. And, our traditional gorgeous family stockings are all hanging in a row. 💓
And, like I said above…. furniture moves in this house. This was the initial way, but the mantle wouldn’t work on the other wall, so we moved the chairs to flank the fireplace and put the couch in front of the window.
We do the 4 gift tradition in our home, and I LOVE it! Wrapping is complete, and our children are anticipating the big day. Okay, not gonna lie, I’m pretty excited too.
We made these wood slice ornaments, pine cone garland, and cinnamon ornaments last year. They have become my favorites. We added a few red, farmhouse style ornaments, but kept the tree decorations pretty simple and homemade this year.
My vintage cabinet graces itself in the far corner of the living room. Due to lack of closet space, it is serving as our coat and sewing closet.
Don’t you just LOVE this kitchen island? I walk by often and just smile. My sweet husband had planned to build me one for Christmas, but he found this on marketplace for a great price. I still have to add a few touches like a towel hook, more decor, etc, but it’s perfect for our space. And, It was the best early Christmas gift ever! Just in time to be put to work hosting a Christmas Eve Brunch for our teens. I am planning to build a tall chalkboard to the left of the pantry door and eventually will have a barn door or screen door as the pantry door.
This is the back hall. I’m still working on this space, but it is coming along after a fresh coat of paint and a bit of decor.
Our dining room gets used to the max on a daily basis. It acts as the school room, cafeteria, and craft area.😌 My hutch holds our nutcrackers, nativity set, and a few other fun Christmas decorations.
The coffee station got bumped to this space after the new island was put into the kitchen. But, it is perfect and gets used almost daily.
Our weeks have been crazy with parties, activities, cooking, baking, gift giving, memories, and more. We are thankful to be settled in our home and are excited to begin a new year in the new places God has put us. Hoping to share a complete house tour after the New Year. Merry Christmas!
