Sometimes a moment is all it takes
Sometimes it takes just a day sitting in solitude with no agenda on your plate. But, for other seasons of life it takes getting far away to be refreshed and excited to get back to the reality of life. A few months back I contacted a man who currently runs this gorgeous place in the mountains of Tennessee… Elijah’s Harbor
It is a Christian resort set away in the mountains of Tennessee for the sole purpose of encouraging people in ministry. He gave us a really good deal to stay in a small home right next to the mansion. We had use of everything within the mansion too! (Work out room, game room, theatre, ice cream diner, games galore, huge pool, hot tub, and so much more). This was the view from our front porch…
It doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg in order to relax either. We stopped at a grocery store right before we got to the Harbor and grabbed some easy meals to prepare in our little home away from home. I wanted a little vacation from the kitchen too, but didn’t want to spend a ton on food either. We spent a whole $107 for 5 nice breakfasts, 4 suppers, 5 lunches, and a few snacks for our family of 6!!
We splurged and enjoyed a really nice 3 course meal in the mansion one night too, had ice cream sundaes and banana splits in the 50’s diner, and devoured popcorn and watched movie in their very own Theatre.
Our outings consisted of lots of swimming, atv rides, feeding animals (peacocks, alpaca, horses, ducks, zebra, donkeys, and Daphne the duck), hiking, picnics, historic sites, and wading in all kinds of fun creeks in the mountains.
I wish I could put up all the pictures we took, but here are just a few of our adventures. We are so thankful for a wonderful week and coming home feeling relaxed and excited to jump back in running! We are blessed and I am so thankful!
Until next time, Tennessee!
