Welcome in the Hallway

I recently painted our front and back doors black. It helps the doors pop so much more and I’m in love. Our back door is pretty much the door most people enter just the way our house sits on the property. So, I really wanted this entrance to be bright and welcoming. The walls were an off white before so I painted them the same color as the master bath. (Statuesque by Behr) The bottom is painted white. I love shopping my home for pieces to fit spaces scattered throughout. I used to have a gray trunk in this space, but it just wasn’t working and I found that it cluttered the already small space. So, I snatched the bench from the dining room when I found our little one a cute little table to fit better in that space. (more on that find in a future post). I found the old black milk can for $5 at a yard sale years ago.
The long jute rug was found at our Bargain Hunt for a steal. If you have never been to a Bargain Hunt, you are missing out. It can be a hit and miss place, but I have found some amazing deals on brand new merchandise from Target and other places.
My dear daddy built me the bench from wood from our childhood home. The pallet sign was one of my firsts from years back. I have simple truths on both sides, so it is an easy change if I want a different look.
I found a big bag of hooks for $1 at a yard sale when we moved here. They worked perfect in this space. The little box underneath the bench was a gift to me many years ago and is perfect for holding shoes as little munchkins walk through the door.
It may not be anything extra special or fancy, but I love this little entrance to our home.
Until next time….
