What in the World? (Teen boy’s Room)

I recently switched 2 rooms in our home and re-homed 4 children. 😄 You can see how the girl’s room ended up after I painted it a new color and moved all the furniture into their new spaces here.

Here is what our son’s room did look like before we switched. I had left the paint color the same since we moved in, so we just adapted his decorations and furniture to the wall color. It was not exact, but was close enough to not looking too terrible.

I painted this room a Dolphin gray before we moved in last year. It fit the girl’s room perfectly and tends to have blue hue in it now that all of our son’s stuff is set up. So, we are gonna live with it for now.
I do plan to paint/stain the dresser and make new curtains, but it is on my “mommy do list.” The hamper is not for clothes–it became a perfect spot for his air soft arsenal.😊
Some may ask why there is a salt shaker and a light bulb on his wall?? Our son is darling and loves people like no one I know. He has a real desire to be a difference in this world in every way. When he asked if we could hang a map on his wall last year he said it would be a good reminder to pray for all people everywhere. And, that maybe one day he’d end up in one of those small specks of countries scattered across the oceans. I pray he remains tender and loves people like Christ desires. Thus, the salt and light…he needs to be a salt and light right where he is and so do the rest of us!

His cubby storage holds several of his lego stash, books, devotional necessities, and the wii system. We do not allow him to watch tv in his room, and he does not have access to the wii without the chord from us!😉 We are definitely thankful that he is one of our avid readers and tends to find more satisfaction in a good ‘ole classic over technology. But, every now and then it is a fun treat and activity.
Here’s just another view of his storage and corner. His ‘A’ hangs on the wall with his guitar and he has a chair for sitting if he so desires.
This was a “fun” project tearing down massive bunk beds and moving all the stuff, but I am so glad we finally tackled it. He doesn’t seem too disappointed that he downsized in the room category, but he still has a place for all his stuff and definitely has an easier time keeping a smaller space clean!😏 And, for that, this mommy is happy.
