Kitchen Love

I LOVE having a window in our kitchen! The above picture had some crazy lighting going on, but I actually love it. The cabinets have more of a bright orange glow to them due to the clear coat that was put on them. I’m hoping to maybe lightly sand them and stain them a darker color…one day.😉 The appliances are a bisque color so painting the cabinets is not really an option. Plus, they are beautifully built and very nice. So, for now they will stay. I painted the walls Wheat Bread by Behr. They were a limish green color when we moved in.
Sorry, this is the only picture I have with the color.

My sweet man built me the barn door as my Christmas present. Behind the door is our pantry. I made the chalkboard and just screwed it to the wall. It houses our weekly events so it’s front and center for noone to forget. My chicken nester remains one of my favorite pieces and graces its presence on the kitchen wall above the beautiful farmhouse island we found when we moved here. I found the old scale and the step ladder at our little town’s incredible antique mall.

I only kept two stools from our last home. I figured the space here was definitely smaller, but I am so glad I kept at least 2. The other 4 were hot commodities at our yard sale before moving. I am pretty sure I made 10 times the amount I paid for them. 😁 My crazy 30 gallon trash can was found at Goodwill for $5. I love it in every way. It fits the space, but it also eliminates having to take the trash out twice a day.

I am very thankful for many memories already formed within the four walls of our “new to us” home. I continue to rest in the truths that Jesus has instilled in my heart through the years. Our home is always open to any and all of you. Praying that one day we can encourage your heart if you venture our way. I will happily make you a humble meal and pour you a steaming cup of coffee or a glass full of sweet tea. Thanks for stopping by, sweet friends. Praying your week is amazing.
