Paint choice for the Master Bedroom ($100 Room Challenge)
I think one of my most hated parts of decorating is choosing a paint color. I know… I’m strange. Honestly, I just get overwhelmed with the choices, choosing the right tint, perfect shade, which color will work best with the lighting in the room, complementing accent pieces and furniture, and more. But, this paint choice ended up being a bit easier than I had expected. And, I will have to say that I am very pleased by the results!
I actually did not spend a cent on my paint for this project! How amazing is that?! A dear friend gave me a few gallons of paint when we moved into our new house. I just had to take them to Home Depot and get them tinted the color I wanted. This was my last gallon, but came at a perfect time allowing my budget to not get touched for this challenge.
I was shooting for a pretty white for three of the walls in the room. After a ton of paint swatches and samples, I chose a
Bit of Sugar by BEHR Marquee.
Painting while still remaining responsible for 5 children and homeschooling can be tricky. 😉 But, it is possible. I simply set our ipad up on the bed with fun educational cartoons for our 2 year old as I painted around her.
I just moved everything into the middle of the room or up against the wall behind the bed because I didn’t want to waste the paint on that far wall. Next week’s post will show you why!
My handy dandy old step stool was perfect to reach all the cutting in and maneuvering through my bedroom maze of furniture and children.😊
We had a big church staff retreat to go to for 3 days, and my ocd got in the way about leaving an unfinished room. So, i put everything back so we could live in normalcy until beginning the next phase of our makeover.
I cannot wait to show you what I plan to do on that far wall next week!
