Decor on a Dime,  Trash to Treasure

Would you like a piano for free?

That was the question a man from church came up to us and asked recently. It was kind of funny actually. Yes, we do/did have a piano already, but honestly it was way out of tune and the sound board was broken so it was beyond help. I actually loved to play it despite several piano players mentioning that they hated my piano saying it was super hard to play. Well, I for one, had gotten used to it after having it for 7 years.

But, I thought we could at least go look at this other piano and see if I wanted it or not. Only bad thing is, I love my piano’s appearance in my home. It’s just big, tall, and old and I can decorate it fun. I know, silly reason to say no to a different one. But, I wanted to make sure it would work in my home, decor wise! When we walked into this lady’s home I said yes immediately! It is gorgeous. There are no ginormous scratches, dents, or a broken sound board! There are 2 keys that need to be replaced and it needs to be tuned, but we are going to scrap our old one and pay for a tune-up! It has fun features too like the soft petal locks if you push it once. That way I can play quietly and still use the other petal without having to hold down the soft pedal!

I love it!! It is actually taller and much prettier than my old one! And, it came with a bench too that I can put my music in! I am excited too to have a few projects up our sleeves from the old piano’s wood! So, here is my “new” to me piano!

Very nice! can't remember the other one exactly and maybe it is just all your same decor on it…but it looks a lot like your other one! 🙂 Love the metal piece you put on it.

and laughing with you that you decided to get it only after seeing if it was "pretty" and would work with your decor 🙂 I would SOOOO do the same thing 🙂

The same decor makes it look similar, but this one looks soooo much nicer and it is much taller! I like it more cuz it's not as lost behind the couch as it was before!

I figured you'd appreciate my Pretty and decor reasoning in deciding! It is so true though. There are some things that you really can't paint, and wasn't about to paint a piano! lol
