Bible Blessings

God loves me with a gallon of milk!

I know, you consider it strange that I have taken a picture of a glass of milk and an almost empty gallon of milk! Well, this little gallon proved to me, once again, that God was and always is in control even when it’s not a need, but even a simple desire!

We have not been struggling necesarrily financially, but have had lots of expenses on us like vehicle repairs, carpet, and several other added expenses. Even still, God continues to provide and I have seen Him bless us so much even in just the last year. Many of the ways I cannot even begin to describe! He has allowed us many extras too for which we are truly thankful. I know what it is like to have finances sucked dry and still not be able to pay the bills, so the extras are always a reminder that it is God and not us.

So, what does a glass of milk have to do with anything? Well, a week or so ago Andrew’s sweet teacher sent us home with some milk, noodles, and several other grocery goodies. Little did she know that it was the PERFECT timing to meet a specific need and encourage our hearts! I had planned on making spaghetti, but knew I was feeding a crew and didn’t have enough noodles! Lo and behold, in the bottom of that grocery bag she sent home was a box of noodles! You may ask, couldn’t you have just gone out and bought a box of noodles? Of course, but I had already used my grocery budget and really didn’t want to. Plus, if I had done that, I would have missed out on this little blessing so much more.

I don’t know about your family, but my family LOVES milk! No, I mean, LOVES milk! And, unfortunately it is not in my grocery budget to buy a gallon of milk a day when prices are so high! If I set a gallon of milk on the table for any given meal, between my hubby and kiddos it would be gone and someone maybe has ventured to the fridge to open another if mommy didn’t stop it! So, it is a rare occasion that mommy sets a gallon of milk on the dinner table. It’s usually just a one glass type of situation, but I am glad they like milk so much. I, on the other hand, have never been a huge fan of it since being taken off of it for several months when I was little to determine if their was an allergy to it. But, when we received this extra blessing mommy so excitedly set that gallon of milk on the dinner table that evening and watched my happy little family drink to their hearts content. I know, it may be the little things that bring a smile, but my God is big enough to care about giving His children an extra gallon or two of milk in a given week!

Thank you, Lord, for using a godly school teacher and friend to send an extra blessing to brighten our home! What a joy to know that He cares about even a glass of milk for us!
