Another FUN project
I have wanted to do a small garden for a long time, but just didn’t have a perfect spot for it. So, my sweet hubby tore our ugly clothesline down that really wasn’t functional and cleaned up a corner of our back yard and built me a very useful garden box.
My little ones enjoyed helping mommy plant corn, watermelon, beans, cucumbers, zucchini, bell peppers, and lots of tomatoes! I cannot wait to pick our very own fresh veggies! We are looking forward to some canning this year. I know we won’t get tons and tons, but every little bit helps with the not so fun grocery bill.
I already have eyes on another spot for next year to add an additional box! Hmm, maybe 1 box for each child to maintain? Sure sounds good to me!
How about you–Do you like to garden? Do you enjoy canning? I love both and call myself crazy for attempting one of our own the summer I am huge pregnant, but I am still excited! It is also a fun lesson building opportunity for our children. They helped plant their adopted grandparents HUGE garden a few weeks ago, so they are getting much experience at a young age to care for plants. I am praying that this helps save some money, develop more responsibilities in our children, and allows us to learn new things together.
