Mother’s Day
Due to a huge emergency in our family this weekend mother’s day was spent sitting in a icu waiting room for the entire day. I would not say that that is what I had planned, but I am so thankful that we live close enough to be able to share our support by just being there for our family. My sweet sister in law has had ups and downs throughout the weekend with a very serious skin disease that has attacked her body! I am so thankful that we have a God of hope to look to and pray to. What a sweet thing it has been to watch God’s children rally around to help our sweet family in a very genuine time of need!
So, with many trips to the hospital, making phone calls, picking people up at the airports and such, we had some fun on Saturday to “celebrate” mother’s day.
Chloe and Mommy had planned a mommy’s/daughter date out. We woke up at 5:30 and drove 1 1/2 hours to a huge subdivision yard sale. It truly looked like it was gonna rain the entire time, but God held it off for us!
Early morning ride to our destination—–Yard sales!
After yard sailing a few hours we got our hair cut and then hit Chloe’s favorite fast food—Mc Donalds! Only good thing about that is it was CHEAP!
After our “healthy” lunch we enjoyed a relaxing time getting a pedicure (for which we had gift cards for). Chloe wasn’t completely thrilled about sticking her feet in hot water and having someone rub them, so she opted to just get her toe nails and fingernails done with fancy pink glitter polish. Mommy, on the other hand, didn’t give up the luxury of a true pedicure. I had my toes painted to match my new mother’s day dress that I ended up not getting to wear since we were at the hospital, but I will get to wear it next week!
It was so much fun to just enjoy a day together alone. We had lots of sweet talks, fun giggles, and just good ole’ sweet fellowship. I love my little munchkins and truly praise the Lord for each of them and the friendships we get to establish too.
When we got home my sweet hubby surprised me with an 18 foot above ground pool (just like the one we used to have) and a garden box for me to plant a garden! I was so surprised and so excited. I am looking forward to being able to finally somewhat exercise again by swimming!
